CA Inter January 2027 exam form: dates, last date, late fee and how to fill it

The exam form for the CA Intermediate January 2027 exams opens on 3 November 2026 at 10:00 IST on the ICAI Self Service Portal. The last date without a late fee is 16 November 2026, and the last date with the late fee is 19 November 2026 (both until 23:59 IST). A correction window follows from 20 to 22 November 2026. These dates are from ICAI's announcement of 23 September 2026 and its important-dates notice, checked on 26 October 2026. This page covers only the form: the dates, the fee, who can fill it and each step. For the exam itself, see our CA Intermediate January 2027 guide.

| Form opens | Tuesday 3 November 2026, 10:00 IST |
| Last date without late fee | Monday 16 November 2026, 23:59 IST |
| Last date with late fee | Thursday 19 November 2026, 23:59 IST |
| Correction window (exam city, medium) | 20 to 22 November 2026 |
| Group I exams | 2, 4 and 6 January 2027 |
| Group II exams | 8, 10 and 12 January 2027 |
The late fee period is only three days. Do not plan to use it: the portal is busiest on the last evenings, and a payment that fails at 11:50 p.m. on the 19th leaves you with no attempt until the next session.
CA Inter January 2027 exam fee
From ICAI's January 2027 fee chart, for an exam centre in India:
| You are appearing in | Fee |
|---|---|
| One group | ₹1,500 |
| Both groups | ₹2,700 |
| Late fee (added after 16 November) | ₹600 |
Overseas centres have their own fee in US dollars, set out in the same notice. The fee is paid online on the portal, and the form is complete only when the payment succeeds and you can download the form.
Who can fill the CA Inter January 2027 exam form
ICAI's requirements notice for January 2027 asks for eight months of study in the Intermediate course as on 1 January 2027. In practice that means you must have registered for CA Intermediate on or before 1 May 2026. If you registered after that date, your first attempt is the next session.
Two other checks before you start:
- Your registration must be valid. A registration that has lapsed has to be revalidated on the portal before the exam form will accept you.
- Old-scheme students may need to convert to the current course first; the requirements notice explains the conversion.
How to fill the CA Inter exam form, step by step
- Go to the ICAI Self Service Portal and log in with your registration number. Students who have not used the portal create a login first.
- If the portal shows a revalidation or conversion step, finish it before anything else.
- Open the examination form for January 2027 and choose Group I, Group II or both.
- Choose your exam city and medium (English or Hindi).
- If you hold an exemption in any paper from an earlier attempt, check how ICAI shows it on the form. The January 2027 page explains the separate exemption rules.
- Upload any document the portal asks for, check every field and pay online by 16 November (19 November with the ₹600 late fee).
- Download the PDF of the submitted, bar-coded form and keep it. It is your proof that you applied.
- If you chose the wrong city or medium, change it in the correction window, 20 to 22 November. After that, the form is final.
Mistakes that cost students an attempt
- Leaving it to the late-fee days. The late fee window is only 16 to 19 November.
- Not keeping the form PDF. If the payment is debited but the form does not show, the PDF and the transaction reference are what ICAI's help desk will ask for.
- Choosing a group before you are ready. You can appear in one group now and the other in May 2027, but both groups together give the chance to pass the level in one sitting.
- Ignoring the medium. The medium you choose is the one your paper comes in. Change it only in the correction window.
What to do after the form
Once the form is in, about six weeks remain to the first paper on 2 January 2027. That is the time to sit full papers, not to start new chapters.
- Take one full timed paper a day in the last two weeks of November, rotating the six subjects.
- Practise the 30-mark MCQ section of each paper on its own, since every mark there is objective. Our article on CA Inter MCQ questions explains how the MCQs are set and marked.
- Use free CA Intermediate mock tests to check the MCQ part under time, and then analyse each mock before taking the next one.
