About CSEET
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India conducts the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET), the entry test for the CS Executive Programme. ICSI restructured it with effect from the June 2026 session. The last session in the old remote-proctored mode was held on 10 January 2026. The restructured test is held at examination centres in Indian cities, and at Dubai for a surcharge, three times a year, in the first week of February, June and October.
The restructured CSEET has four papers of 100 marks each, one on each of four days: Paper 1 Business Communication, Paper 2 Fundamentals of Accounting and Paper 3 Economic and Business Environment are subjective papers of 3 hours each. Paper 4 Business Laws and Management is OMR-based, 2 hours long, with Part A Business Laws for 60 marks and Part B Business Management for 40 marks. ICSI gives 15 minutes of reading time before each paper. There is no negative marking in the OMR paper.
ICSI's sample question papers and the June 2026 question paper for Paper 4 give 100 questions, all compulsory, each carrying one mark, with four options: questions 1 to 60 in Part A and 61 to 100 in Part B. The practice test on this site follows that pattern. The three subjective papers are written answers marked by examiners; they cannot be marked here, and are described only.
A candidate passes CSEET by scoring at least 40% in each paper and 50% in the aggregate of all papers in one sitting; marks are not carried forward. A passed result is valid for one year for registration to the CS Executive Programme. Registration to CSEET is open to Indian nationals who have passed or are appearing in Class 12, is valid for three years, and requires the Student Induction Programme before enrolling for an examination. Graduates and several other categories are exempt from CSEET and may register directly for the Executive Programme. The question papers, study material and sample papers ICSI publishes for the restructured CSEET are in English only.
